hi there, it’s nice to meet you!
We decided to learn stained glass in an effort to spend more time with our grandmother. We always loved the pieces that she made us growing up and when presented with the opportunity to learn ourselves, thought it would be a fun few weeks. Once we started, we were hooked! From then on, every evening, nap time, and conversation between us was about one thing: glass. Our fun hobby has continued to grow out of love for the craft and spending time together, into the little business that we have today. It really has been a labour of love and we are so grateful to share our creative outlet with others.
Hi, I’m Kailey!
I have always loved creating. There is a part of my heart that can only be fulfilled by messy hands, cluttered workstations and watching a vision come to life. When I was a kid I had a sketchbook that I used to document adventures. I became hooked on the feeling of preserving a memory, experience or emotion in artwork and have been experimenting with different mediums ever since. Today, my two favourites include paint and glass, but I embrace any opportunity to be creative, whether it be homemade Halloween costumes or paper mache models for my classroom (Im basically a pro with a glue gun at this point).
I’m a teacher , and mom to a wonderful five-year-old son, and two dogs. I enjoy being outside, collecting antiques, thrift shopping, seeing my favourite bands live and listening to a good record with a glass of wine.
I have a soft spot for anything 70s or 80s, and love the fashion, music, home décor and artwork from these time periods. My art is often inspired by nature and fabrics or patterns from the past. I love the colours, shapes and symmetry often found in vintage pieces and enjoy incorporating them into my stained-glass designs
Hi, I’m Meg!
I have always been a compulsive hobbier. I have that condition called “Oh… I could do that” and once a new craft is presented to me, my response is to learn it immediately. As a child I loved to repeatedly re-decorate my room, make collages and considered myself a professional photographer. This evolved into candle making, refinishing furniture and knitting. Eventually, my crafting obsession led to me enroll in school for cabinetmaking and millwork. I learned all of the basics of wood working, mastered safe use of tools and made some beautiful furniture, but I did not feel done learning, so I went back to school for architectural technology. As long as I am learning something new, I am happy. Any day which I can use my laminator or label maker is a very, very good day.
I work as a Plans Examiner for a local municipality, have the two sweetest daughters, a goofy dog, and a sassy cat. On top of making stained glass, I am a sourdough enthusiast, I love to cook, garden, thrift furniture, and binge tv with my husband.
I find inspiration for design in nature, pop culture and architecture. Right now my biggest problem is too many ideas, not enough time, and that is a good problem to have.
